When it comes to the heart of your home, there may be no room more appropriate for that title than your dining room. One of the most important things you can do to create the warm, inviting atmosphere you want to have when throwing a party, having guests over for dinner, or simply eating dinner, is proper lighting.
Here at Butler Lighting there are a few types of lights we highly recommend if you’re hoping to really wow people with your dining room. Our Greensboro lighting showroom carries a wide variety of dining room lights that are sure to please your home’s guests and residents alike.
So whether you’re looking to build a new home, or simply doing a remodel of your current dining room, stop by our lighting showroom to meet with one of our expert lighting consultants.
CHANDELIERS ARE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE ROOM
Chandeliers are one of the most popular choices for dining room lighting. Chandeliers provide an elegant look that are almost impossible to match by other lighting fixtures. While there’s a wide range of chandeliers you can go for — our lighting showroom carries over 10,000 different types! — it’s best to go with one that fits the theme of your room.
If you’re going for a classic look, you may want to select a crystal chandelier. For those that favor a more modern sense of decor, chandeliers that contain iron or copper are a good choice.
As an aside, chandeliers don’t just look great inside the house. We also have outdoor chandeliers that will brighten and beautify any outdoor space.
MAKING THE MOST WITH PENDANT LIGHTING
One of the more popular ways to do pendant lighting in your dining room is to go with a multi-pendant approach. Mini pendants grouped together provide a great lighting touch over a dining room table. Vary the color, style, and lengths to put your own personal flair in.
If you have a smaller dining table, consider suspending a single drum pendant over it. Make sure to choose a drum material that matches the color scheme and theme of your dining room.
WALL SCONCES PROVIDE THE FINISHING TOUCH
Wall sconces seem like relatively minor pieces of lighting, and on their own that’s certainly true. However, if you use them correctly, wall sconces can make that subtle difference that truly makes your dining room stand apart from the rest.
While they can be strategically placed in different places throughout your dining room, we recommend placing them in the corners to bring light to often ignored areas.
